About GuideTutor

GuideTutor is an independent educational website that teaches beginners and everyday users how to use computers, laptops, printers, software, the internet and phones through clear step-by-step tutorials.

Why GuideTutor exists

Technology instructions are often written for people who already know the answer. Manuals skip steps, menus move between versions, and searching for help can lead to pages that push downloads or phone numbers. GuideTutor publishes calm, plain-English lessons that start from the beginning, explain every new word and break each task into numbered steps you can follow at your own pace.

What we teach

Tutorials are organized into seven subjects, with the deepest coverage for computers, laptops and printers:

Each tutorial lists what you’ll need, defines key terms, walks through the task step by step with checkpoints, shows how to confirm it worked, and explains what to try if something goes wrong.

What we are not

GuideTutor is an educational publication only. We:

  • are not a repair company, technical support line or manufacturer service center;
  • do not offer remote access, one-to-one support, bookings or call-backs;
  • are not affiliated with, sponsored by, certified by or authorized by Microsoft, Apple, Google, HP, Canon, Epson, Brother, Lexmark, Dell, Lenovo or any other company whose products we mention;
  • do not sell software, drivers, devices or accessories.

Brand and product names appear only so we can describe products accurately. When you need official help with a product, our tutorials point you to the maker’s own support website.

How tutorials are made

Tutorials are written and reviewed by the GuideTutor Editorial Team. Drafts may be prepared with the help of AI writing tools, and every tutorial is checked and edited by a person before publication. Steps that depend on Windows, macOS, iPhone, Android or a device maker are checked against that company’s official documentation, which we link at the end of each tutorial. Our Editorial Policy explains the process in full.

How the site is funded

The site does not currently display advertising, use affiliate links or accept payment from technology companies. We may promote the site through online advertising so more people can find the tutorials. If we ever add advertising or commercial relationships to the site itself, we will label them clearly and update this page and our Privacy Policy first.
